Haas 5-Axis
5-Axis CNC Machining Centers
Haas UMC Series universal machining centers — cost-effective 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis machining. From the compact UMC-400 to the production UMC-1500 Duo.

UMC Series
5-axis machining reduces setups and increases accuracy for multi-sided and complex parts. The UMC line uses a built-in trunnion-style rotary. The UMC-500 offers 24"×16"×16" travels, the UMC-750 steps up to 30"×20"×20", and the UMC-1250 reaches 50"×30"×28". SS models are Super Speed, P models add a pallet changer, and /50 models switch to a 50-taper spindle.
3+2 vs Simultaneous 5-Axis: In 3+2 mode, the rotary axes lock in position and you machine with three linear axes — like a VMC cutting at an angle. In simultaneous mode, all five axes move together for complex contoured surfaces. Most shops start with 3+2 and move to simultaneous as they learn the programming.
